ASUM GRAMMAR: Mike Edwards, the `Asum Poet', joined other exponents of the local dialect at Badsey recently for a recording session for the BBC's Voice 2005 project. The nationwide project is to establish the degree of dialect in modern day use. John Hellings, the BBC's audio gatherer, spent an hour questioning Mr Edwards together with Badsey locals, Michael Hewlett, Wendy Beasley and Terry Brotherton. The resulting recording will be heard on Radio 4, and the BBC website, later in the year.   more...
