ST JAMES'S CHURCH: The pancake party organised by the social committee and held in St James's church on Shrove Tuesday evening was very well supported and raised £75 for the Children's Society. This was one of those occasions when the area at the west end of the church was put to very good use for a secular cause and was a foretaste, it is hoped, of the many such events which will take place there when all the planned alterations and improvements have been completed. Readers are reminded that more can be learned about these plans and other facts concerning the running of the church and its hopes for the future at the annual meeting which will take place on Sunday evening, April 10, following a shortened evensong.   more...

GARDENING CLUB: Evesham Gardening Club will be meeting on Tuesday, February 22 at 7.30pm at Wallace House, Oat Street, Evesham. The speaker will be Peter Pashley whose talk is called Some Enchanted Island. The talk is sponsored by Pro-Culture of Evesham. The competition this month is for a bowl of hellebores.
