It is known, that art created by using molten wax was used by the Romans. In the 21st century, Encaustic Art features specially prepared coloured wax spread onto the solid base of an iron at low temperature, which is then wiped across prepared paper to create a picture. The wax dries instantly, but can be altered and adapted by further applications of colours and heat.   more...

Splitting into two groups, they worked hard all morning and succeeded in covering most areas including the playing field, leaving them litter-and-rubbish free. Their effort qualifies the village to claim the £500 offered at this time by Wychavon District Council, a very welcome boost to village hall funds and one for which we are all grateful. GARDENING SOCIETY: On the evening of Thursday, July 15, members visited Hill House Victorian Gardens in Warwick. Chris Begg welcomed everyone and gave a fascinating talk outlining the history of the gardens and plans for their future. Local people saved Hill Close Gardens from development. The Victorian detached gardens were common just outside the built up area of a town. They were used and enjoyed by townsfolk who lived over their businesses and were unable to escape to a garden. There are only two other such areas of gardens in existence in the UK. A lottery bid for £1m has just been completed to restore the gardens to their former glory.   more...
