MORRIS dancing and music will be entertaining shoppers in Worcester as part of the BBC's week-long Easter music bonanza.
Mad About Music is being staged all next week, from April 5 to 12, across the Midlands to celebrate all sorts of music - from soul and jazz to samba and rock - enjoyed in the region.
A number of events are scheduled for public venues during the week including traditional border morris dancing and Worcester's own Organic Hillbillies performing in the CrownGate Shopping Centre.
The project will be featured on BBC local radio and television as well as online and will conclude with a cross-cultural music event around the canals of Birmingham City centre on Easter Monday between 12noon and 6pm.
Performers will be in bars, on boats, in the BBC Open Space at BBC Birmingham's new home in the Mailbox and on a specially constructed stage at Brindley Place.
BBC event producer Jenny Wilkes said: "We have an incredible mix of musical styles and cultures throughout our region - and we think that's something well worth celebrating.
"With something for everyone, and some things you might never have heard of or seen before, we're looking forward to a fantastic week this Easter," she said.
