I read with interest the report in last weeks' Journal regarding the proposed siting of the new mobile phone mast outside the North Cotswold Hunt kennels in Broadway. Why don't Orange erect the mast on the actual kennels site itself ? After all there will be no further use for the kennels when hunting is banned later this year and all the dogs presumably relocated to Wickhamford.   more...

MEALS ON WHEELS: Throughout the area, there have been big changes in the deliveries of meals on wheels. The WRVS now handles the cooking and the deliveries, and local volunteers are no longer used for this service. Many of the Bredon volunteers had been on the rota for many years, and they deserve the thanks of all those who benefited from their personal service. Someone who deserves special thanks is the Bredon co-ordinator, Michael Needham, who has had the difficult job of communicating the changes both to the volunteers and to the recipients of the meals. It must be the wish of everyone concerned that the new extended service will help more people to remain in their own homes for as long as possible during their retirement years.   more...

The architect, with whom they are working closely, is now drawing up plans which are intended to embrace all the suggestions and options compiled from the survey done last year together with other, more recent, ideas which have arisen from consultation with various interested bodies. Meanwhile, it has been announced that Mrs Mary Stinton of 24, Village Street, has agreed to become the booking clerk and (for the time being at least) the key-holder.
