AN auction of promises is to be held at Cradley CE School on Friday, November 14, in support of the new school project.

Among the star lots are a ride in a Morgan sports car, a visit to the BBC studio at Pebble Mill or a peal of bells rung in your honour.

Nobby Stiles's book After the Ball, signed by the author and fellow 1966 World Cup heroes Bobby Charlton and Geoff Hurst, and a signed edition of Lady Thatcher's latest book, Statecraft, are also on offer.

Event organiser Sue Smith said other lots include babysitting services, free legal advice, a riding lesson, tennis club membership, a birthday puppet show and a selection of plants.

The auctioneer will be school governor Mike Vockins and the doors open at 7pm for viewing the lots, with the bidding beginning at 7.30pm.
