One-sided signs

ROSIE Turner (Your Letters, June 6) does not identify the greatest problem navigating Malvern. That is that name plates are put on only one side of the road. This means that a driver approaching from the wrong direction has to stop at each junction in order to look backward to see the name plate. When the desired road is reached, the chances are the driver is then too far forward to enter and has to reverse in order to get a suitable angle to make the turn.   more...

A GLORIOUS sunny afternoon greeted the many visitors who enjoyed the beautiful gardens at Birtsmorton Court and the historic parish church. The number of people far exceeded expectations. It was lovely to see so many enjoying our teas on the lawn, basking in the warm sunshine, totally relaxed. Thank you so much to Julia, Jo, Jasmine, Alison, Anne, Roger T, Roger, Eric, Bill and Reverend Joy. We certainly were rushed off our feet but the end result made it all worthwhile. A total of £407.84 was raised and this will go towards the ever increasing running costs of the parish church. Thank you also to Nigel and Rosalie for the use of the motor house and to everyone who baked cakes and supplied items for our home-made stalls.   more...
