WOULD-BE young film-makers in Wyre Forest are missing out on funding which could help them on their way to being the new generation of Guy Ritchies or Ridley Scotts.
The Birmingham-based First Light project provides cash for seven to 18-year-olds to produce short films including dramas, comedies, animations and documentaries.
The project, developed by the film council, has helped 3,500 teenagers and children across the UK make more than 200 films since its launch 18 months ago.
But no young people from Wyre Forest, or from anywhere else in Worcestershire, have applied for grants, which range from up to £5,000 for one film or £36,000 for up to six.
Applications can be made on www.firstlightmovies.com or by calling 0870 770 3245.
