Badsey Society

A large audience were present at the launch of Terry Sparrow's new book at Badsey First School on Saturday. The local author and historian entertained the invited gathering with stories and anecdotes connected with the villages. Society chairman Tony Jerram, who compered the event, spoke of the many talented local people who had produced such a professional publication, with the printing being the only operation not taking place in the village. During the evening copies of the revised edition of `A Brief History of Badsey and Aldington' were awarded to Fiona Allen, Will Dallimore and Ian Gibson the joint-winners of the Society's logo competition. Complimentary copies were also presented to representatives of Badsey Parish Council and Badsey First School. The Countryside Service of Worcestershire County Council were also thanked by the Chairman for their loan which greatly helped to produce the first of the Society's proposed publications. The book, which contains over a 100 photographs is of interest not only to the villagers of Badsey and Aldington but on a wider scale is a historical record of village life in rural England. ST JOHN AMBULANCE - PERSHORE DIVISION: Are holding their annual Autumn Bike Ride this Sunday, October 13. The bike ride starts in Broad Street, Pershore at 9.30am, and ends at Littleworth Parish Hall or vice versa.Two routes will be available one of 14 miles and the other 21 miles.
