THOUSANDS of onlookers descended on the Faithful City to see a re-enactment of one of England's most famous battles.
Onlookers from across Worcestershire and beyond watched as the Sealed Knot re-lived the 1651 clash between the Royalist and Parliamentarian armies of King Charles II and Oliver Cromwell.
Dressed in traditional costume, more than 2,000 members of the historic re-enactment group clashed at Bennett's Farm in Lower Wick.
They were marking the 350th anniversary of the bloody September 3 battle, which was the last in the English Civil wars.
John Bennett, who organised the weekend's event, today praised all those who took part in the battle, adding it was a terrific occasion which was enjoyed by all.
